When to see a doctor

- You experience severe burning or stinging sensations after applying the topical pain relief, which lasts for more than 2 hours.
- You notice redness, swelling, or blistering of the skin around the area where you applied the topical pain relief.
- You feel dizzy or lightheaded after applying the topical pain relief, especially if you have a history of heart problems.
- You have a fever over 38°C (100.4°F) or chills after applying the topical pain relief, which could be a sign of infection.
