When to see a doctor

Seek care if you notice any of the following

  • You have a severe headache that does not go away after taking paracetamol or ibuprofen for 2 days.
  • Your body temperature is above 39°C (102.2°F) and does not come down after taking medication for 2 days.
  • You have a stiff neck or difficulty moving your neck, which could be a sign of meningitis.
  • You experience difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, even when sitting still.
  • You have a rash that spreads quickly, especially if it's accompanied by a fever or headache.
