How do you take Methyl Salicylate?

This is for external use only, never swallow it. Apply a thin layer to the painful area and gently rub it in. Use 2-3 times a day or as needed. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying. Do not cover the area tightly with a bandage after applying.

Inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes and blocks prostaglandin synthesis in peripheral tissues, reducing pain and inflammation; simultaneously activates TRPM8 and TRPA1 receptors to produce a cooling counter-irritant sensation that modulates pain perception through gate-control theory.

If you are taking blood-thinning medicines like warfarin or aspirin, consult your doctor before using it as methyl salicylate can increase bleeding risk when absorbed through the skin. Avoid applying it alongside heating pads or hot water bottles.
