When to see a doctor

Seek care if you notice any of the following

  • You have severe pain in your lower back or side that does not go away with pain relief medicine.
  • You are vomiting blood or have blood in your urine.
  • You have a fever over 38°C (100.4°F) that lasts for more than 2 days.
  • You are unable to pass urine or have a very weak flow of urine.
  • You have a burning sensation when you urinate and it lasts for more than 3 days.
