This is a combination antibiotic injection that contains ceftriaxone (which kills bacteria) and sulbactam (which stops bacteria from resisting the antibiotic). Together, they fight a wider range of infections more effectively than ceftriaxone alone.
Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins and preventing peptidoglycan cross-linking; sulbactam irreversibly inactivates bacterial beta-lactamases, protecting ceftriaxone from enzymatic degradation and extending spectrum coverage against resistant organisms.
