When to see a doctor

Seek care if you notice any of the following

  • If you have severe bleeding or pass clots during pregnancy or labour, go to your nearest clinic or hospital immediately.
  • If you have a fever over 38°C (100.4°F) during pregnancy or labour, go to your nearest clinic or hospital as soon as possible.
  • If you experience severe headaches or blurred vision during pregnancy, go to your nearest clinic or hospital right away.
  • If you have difficulty breathing or feel like you are choking during labour, go to your nearest clinic or hospital immediately.
  • If you have severe pain or cramping in your abdomen during pregnancy or labour that does not go away with medication, go to your nearest clinic or hospital soon.
