When to see a doctor

Seek care if you notice any of the following

  • If you have severe eye pain that does not go away with medication, go to your nearest clinic or hospital immediately.
  • If you notice a sudden change in your vision, such as blurred vision or blindness in one or both eyes, go to your nearest clinic or hospital right away.
  • If you experience a severe headache or fever that lasts for more than 2 days, go to your nearest clinic or hospital as soon as possible.
  • If you notice a white or yellowish discharge or pus in your eye, go to your nearest clinic or hospital within 24 hours.
  • If you have eye redness that spreads to other parts of your face or is accompanied by a high temperature, go to your nearest clinic or hospital within 24 hours.
