Who is this for?
This is a combination eye drop containing two medicines: moxifloxacin (an antibiotic that kills bacteria causing eye infections) and dexamethasone (a steroid that reduces swelling, redness, and pain in the eye). Together they treat eye infections while calming inflammation at the same time.
Inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, preventing DNA replication and transcription in gram-positive and gram-negative organisms, while dexamethasone binds glucocorticoid receptors to suppress inflammatory cytokine production and reduce ocular edema and hyperemia.

If you miss a dose, apply the drop as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not put in double drops to make up for a missed dose.
Important for antibiotics
Always complete the full course even if you feel better. Stopping early can cause the infection to return and become drug-resistant.
Complete the full course your doctor prescribed because stopping early because your eye feels better can allow the infection to come back stronger. Only buy from a licensed pharmacy and check that the product is NAFDAC-registered (Moloxidex Eye Drops is a known Nigerian brand). Do not share your eye drops with anyone else, even if they have similar symptoms, as eye infections spread easily and sharing drops makes it worse.
If you are using other eye drops, wait at least 5 to 10 minutes between each different drop to avoid washing one out with the other. Avoid using this with other steroid eye drops unless your doctor says so, as it can increase eye pressure. Let your doctor know if you are taking any blood thinners like warfarin.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Nigerian weather can be hot so avoid leaving it in a car or near a window. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Keep away from children. Once opened, most eye drops should be used within 4 weeks, then discard after that.
