Sodium fusidate (also called fusidic acid) is an antibiotic that works by stopping bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow and multiply, which helps your body fight off skin and other bacterial infections.
Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to elongation factor G (EF-G) on the bacterial ribosome, preventing peptide chain elongation and translation. This bacteriostatic action is particularly effective against Gram-positive cocci, including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus species commonly implicated in skin and soft tissue infections.
