Who is this for?

Loratadine is an antihistamine that blocks a natural substance called histamine in your body, which is responsible for causing allergic reactions like sneezing, itching, and runny nose. Unlike older allergy drugs, it is designed not to make you feel sleepy.

Is Loratadine safe to take with another drug?

Take one 10 mg tablet once a day. You can take it with or without food — it works either way. You only need it once daily so pick a time that's easy to remember, like every morning.

If you forget to take your dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it's almost time for your next dose, just skip the missed one and continue as normal. Don't take two tablets at once to make up for it.

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking loratadine as it can increase drowsiness. Be careful if you are also taking ketoconazole (antifungal) or erythromycin (antibiotic) as they can increase the level of loratadine in your blood. Let your pharmacist know about any other medicines you are taking.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — this is especially important in Nigeria's hot weather. Keep the container tightly closed to protect from humidity. Always keep out of reach of children.
