Who is this for?

Fexofenadine is an antihistamine that blocks the substance (histamine) your body releases during an allergic reaction. It relieves allergy symptoms without making you feel as sleepy as older allergy medicines.

Blocks H1 histamine receptors in the central and peripheral nervous systems, preventing histamine-mediated allergic symptoms including vasodilation, increased vascular permeability, and pruritus without significant central nervous system penetration due to its large molecular weight and poor blood-brain barrier penetration.

Is Fexofenadine safe to take with another drug?

For allergies like sneezing and runny nose: take one 120 mg tablet once daily. For hives and skin itching: take one 180 mg tablet once daily. Swallow the tablet with water. You can take it with or without food, but avoid taking it with fruit juice (like orange or grapefruit juice) as this reduces how well the drug works.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for it.

Avoid taking fexofenadine with fruit juices like orange, grapefruit, or apple juice — they reduce how much of the drug your body absorbs. If you take antacids containing aluminium or magnesium (like Gestid or Maalox), wait at least 2 hours before or after taking fexofenadine. Alcohol does not strongly interact with fexofenadine, but it is still wise to limit alcohol as it can worsen dizziness.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so avoid leaving it in your car or near windows. Keep the tablets in their original pack and always store out of reach of children.
