Metoclopramide is a drug that helps stop nausea and vomiting by speeding up the movement of food through your stomach and gut, and by blocking the part of your brain that triggers the urge to vomit.

Adults usually take one 10mg tablet 3 times a day, 30 minutes before meals. Swallow with a glass of water. Do not take it for more than 5 days unless your doctor says otherwise. Taking it before food works best because it helps your stomach empty faster.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take two doses at once to make up for it.
Do not use metoclopramide for more than 5 days without a doctor's guidance — long-term use can cause permanent involuntary movements. Buy only from licensed pharmacies, not roadside vendors, to avoid fake products. If you feel unusual muscle twitching or stiffness, stop the drug and see a doctor immediately.
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking metoclopramide as it increases drowsiness. It can reduce the effect of digoxin (a heart medicine) and may increase the side effects of drugs that also cause drowsiness, such as some antihistamines and sedatives.
