Who is this for?

Methylprednisolone sodium succinate is a strong steroid (corticosteroid) injection that works by reducing inflammation, swelling, and calming down an overactive immune system in your body.

Binds to glucocorticoid receptors in the cytoplasm, translocating to the nucleus to suppress pro-inflammatory gene transcription and inhibit production of cytokines (IL-1, IL-6, TNF-α), chemokines, and adhesion molecules. This rapidly suppresses immune cell activation and inflammatory cascade pathways, reducing edema, vascular permeability, and systemic inflammatory responses.

Is Methylprednisolone safe to take with another drug?

This is not a tablet — it is given as an injection into a vein (IV) or muscle (IM) by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic. The usual adult dose ranges from 10 mg to 500 mg depending on how serious your condition is, and your doctor will decide the exact dose and how often you need it. Do not try to inject yourself at home.

Since this injection is given by a healthcare professional in a hospital or clinic setting, missed doses are unlikely. If your scheduled injection is delayed, inform your doctor so they can adjust your treatment plan.
