Fexotem Cream

Who is this for?

This is a topical pain-relieving cream or balm that combines four active ingredients — methyl salicylate, menthol, camphor, and eucalyptus oil — which work together by creating a warming and cooling sensation on the skin to distract your brain from feeling pain and also help increase blood flow to the sore area.

Activates TRPM8 and TRPA1 cold-sensitive receptors (menthol, eucalyptus oil, camphor) and inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (methyl salicylate), producing counter-irritant sensations that reduce pain perception while decreasing local inflammatory mediators and prostaglandin synthesis.

Is Methyl safe to take with another drug?

Apply a thin layer of the cream (like Fexotem Cream) to the painful area and gently rub it in 2 to 3 times a day. Do not bandage tightly over the area after applying. Wash your hands well after use and avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth, or private parts.

Since this cream is used only when you feel pain, there is no strict dosing schedule. Simply apply it when you need relief, but do not apply more than 3 to 4 times in one day.

Do not use this cream at the same time as other medicated creams, balms, or patches on the same area of skin as this can cause serious skin irritation. Avoid using together with blood-thinning drugs like warfarin, as methyl salicylate can increase bleeding risk if absorbed through the skin. Do not apply before or after using a heating pad.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so avoid leaving it in your car or near a window. Keep the cap tightly closed and store far away from children.
