Muscle relaxant and Painkiller combination
Brand of Methocarbamol; Paracetamol
Last reviewed June 2026
Who is this for?
This is a combination drug containing methocarbamol (a muscle relaxant) and paracetamol (a painkiller). Methocarbamol works by calming tight or stiff muscles, while paracetamol reduces pain and fever, so together they relieve muscle pain and body stiffness.
Inhibits spinal polysynaptic reflexes and depresses interneuron activity in the central nervous system, reducing muscle spasm transmission; concurrently inhibits COX enzymes to decrease prostaglandin-mediated pain and inflammation at the peripheral and central levels.

Adults usually take 1 to 2 tablets three to four times a day depending on the strength. Take with water and you can take it with or without food, but taking it with food can help prevent stomach upset. Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours unless your doctor says otherwise.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, just skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Never take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.
Do not take extra paracetamol from other drugs like cold remedies or pain relievers at the same time, as too much paracetamol can seriously damage your liver. This drug can make you drowsy, so avoid driving okada, keke, or car after taking it until you know how it affects you. Buy only from reputable pharmacies — brands like Dorbaxin Forte are well known, so avoid unbranded versions from roadside sellers.
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this drug as it increases drowsiness and can damage your liver when combined with paracetamol. Be careful if you are also taking sedatives, sleeping pills, or other muscle relaxants as the drowsiness can become dangerous. If you are taking blood-thinning drugs like warfarin, let your doctor know because paracetamol can affect how they work.
