This is a combination medicine containing two diabetes drugs — Metformin and Gliclazide — that work together to lower blood sugar. Metformin helps your body use insulin better and reduces the sugar your liver makes, while Gliclazide pushes your pancreas to produce more insulin.

Take the tablet with food, usually once or twice daily as your doctor prescribes. Starting dose is typically one tablet daily, and your doctor may gradually increase it based on your blood sugar levels. Always take it with or just after a meal to reduce stomach upset and prevent your sugar from dropping too low.
If you miss a dose, take it with your next meal. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for it — this can cause your blood sugar to drop dangerously low.
Always buy from a registered pharmacy — brands like Diamin Plus, Glymed-M, or Melanov-M are available in Nigeria, so ask for them by name. Never adjust your dose on your own or share your diabetes medicine with someone else, even if they also have sugar disease. Keep glucose sweets or a sugary drink nearby in case your blood sugar drops too low, especially if you skip meals.
Alcohol can dangerously lower your blood sugar and increase the risk of lactic acidosis — avoid or limit drinking. NSAIDs like ibuprofen (e.g. Ibrufen, Nurofen) can affect how these drugs work and may increase the risk of low blood sugar. If you are taking blood pressure medicines or steroids, tell your doctor as they can affect your sugar levels.
