For adults, take 10–20 ml (2–4 teaspoonfuls) of the suspension three times a day, between meals and at bedtime. Shake the bottle well before use. If using tablets, chew 1–2 tablets as needed. It works best when taken about 1 hour after eating or whenever you feel the acid burning.
Since this medicine is usually taken when you feel symptoms, there is no strict schedule. Simply take it the next time you feel heartburn or stomach discomfort. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
Buy only from reputable pharmacies — avoid roadside sellers or open-market products that may be expired or poorly stored. Do not use Mist Mag as a long-term solution for persistent stomach pain — if symptoms last more than 2 weeks, see a doctor as it could be a serious ulcer. Shake the suspension bottle very well before each use to get the correct dose.
Do not take this antacid at the same time as antibiotics like tetracycline or ciprofloxacin — it can stop them from working properly. Wait at least 2 hours between taking this medicine and any other drug. Also avoid taking it with iron tablets (like the ones given for blood tonic) as it reduces their absorption.
