For adults, the usual dose is one 10 mg tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain, but do not take more than 4 tablets (40 mg) in a day. This drug is only meant for short-term use — no more than 5 days total. You can take it with food or milk to reduce stomach upset.
Since ketorolac is usually taken only when you have pain, you may not be on a fixed schedule. If you are taking it regularly and miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one — never double up.
This drug is strictly for short-term use (maximum 5 days) — do not continue taking it beyond that even if you still have pain, as it can cause serious stomach or kidney damage. Always buy from a licensed pharmacy and check the expiry date, especially with brands like Dolac-30 and Ketolac. Do not share this medication with others even if they have similar pain — it is a prescription drug and must be used under a doctor's guidance.
Do not take ketorolac together with other painkillers like ibuprofen, diclofenac, or aspirin — combining them greatly increases the risk of stomach bleeding. Avoid alcohol while using this drug as it worsens stomach side effects. If you are taking blood pressure drugs or blood thinners like warfarin, tell your doctor before using ketorolac.
