How to take this drug

Typically taken as a liquid or tablet, usually 1-2 doses daily depending on the product strength. It is best taken on an empty stomach for better absorption, but if it upsets your stomach, you can take it with a light meal. Follow the dosage on the pack or as your pharmacist directs. What if I Miss a Dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.

What to watch out for

Buy only from a registered pharmacy — products from roadside sellers or open markets may be fake or expired. Do not take more than the recommended dose thinking it will build your blood faster, as too much iron can be dangerous. If your symptoms do not improve after a few weeks, see a doctor for a proper blood test.

Tea, coffee, and milk can also reduce how well your body absorbs the iron, so avoid taking them together. If you are on antibiotics like tetracycline or ciprofloxacin, take them at least 2 hours before or after this supplement.
