For adults, take 10ml (two teaspoons) of the syrup every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours. You can take it with or without food. Use the measuring cup that comes with the syrup — don't just guess with a regular spoon.
Since this medicine is taken only when you have cough symptoms, there is no strict schedule. If you forget a dose, just take it when you remember. But if your next dose is almost due, skip the missed one — never double up.
This medicine causes drowsiness — do not drive, ride okada, or operate machinery after taking it. Buy only from reputable pharmacies and check the expiry date, especially with syrups. If your cough lasts more than 7 days or comes with high fever, blood, or weight loss, see a doctor — it could be something more serious than ordinary cough.
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine — it will make the drowsiness much worse and can be dangerous. Avoid taking it with other cough or cold medicines that contain antihistamines, as this can lead to overdose. Be careful with sleeping pills or anxiety medicines (like diazepam) as they increase drowsiness.
