This is a combination medicine containing diphenhydramine (an antihistamine that stops coughs and reduces allergic reactions) and menthol (a cooling ingredient that helps open up your airways and soothe your throat). It is commonly found in cough syrups like Emzolyn Cough Syrup.
Blocks H1 histamine receptors to reduce allergic-mediated airway inflammation and suppress cough reflex, while menthol acts as a topical decongestant that stimulates cold-sensitive TRPM8 receptors, providing soothing relief to irritated airways and nasal passages.

Since this medicine is taken only when you have cough symptoms, there is no strict schedule. If you forget a dose, just take it when you remember. But if your next dose is almost due, skip the missed one and never double up.
This medicine causes drowsiness, so do not drive, ride okada, or operate machinery after taking it. Buy only from reputable pharmacies and check the expiry date, especially with syrups. If your cough lasts more than 7 days or comes with high fever, blood, or weight loss, see a doctor as it could be something more serious than ordinary cough.
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine, as it will make the drowsiness much worse and can be dangerous. Avoid taking it with other cough or cold medicines that contain antihistamines, as this can lead to overdose.
