This is a combination cream or lotion containing four active ingredients: betamethasone (a steroid that reduces swelling, redness, and itching), tolnaftate (an antifungal that kills fungus), gentamicin (an antibiotic that fights bacteria), and clioquinol (which fights both fungus and bacteria). Together, they treat skin infections caused by a mix of germs.
Inhibits fungal ergosterol synthesis (tolnaftate and clioquinol), suppresses bacterial protein synthesis via 30S ribosomal subunit inhibition (gentamicin), and activates glucocorticoid receptors to reduce inflammatory mediators and immune cell proliferation (betamethasone), providing combined antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory action against mixed cutaneous infections.

Apply a thin layer of the cream or lotion to the affected skin area 2 to 3 times daily. Gently rub it in until it is absorbed. Wash and dry the area before applying. Do not cover with tight bandages unless your doctor tells you to. Most treatments last 2 to 4 weeks — do not use for longer than your doctor recommends.
If you forget to apply it, use it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next application, just skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not apply double the amount to make up for it.
Important for antibiotics
Always complete the full course even if you feel better. Stopping early can cause the infection to return and become drug-resistant.
Do not use this cream to bleach or lighten your skin — many Nigerians misuse steroid creams for toning, which causes serious long-term skin damage. Complete the full course of treatment even if the rash looks better, to prevent the infection from coming back. Buy only from registered pharmacies and look for known brands like Dermacol Cream, Epiderm Cream, Fungiban Cream, Fexotop Cream, or Visiderm Cream — avoid unregistered products from roadside sellers.
Avoid using other steroid creams or medicated skin products on the same area at the same time, as this can increase side effects. If you are taking blood-thinning medications like warfarin, let your doctor know. Do not mix with other antibiotic creams unless a doctor advises you to.
