For adults, take 1 capsule or 2 tablespoonfuls of tonic once or twice daily, preferably with food to reduce stomach upset. If you are taking the capsule form like Avroton Capsules, swallow whole with a full glass of water. Taking it with food also helps your body absorb the iron better.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, just skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.
Always buy from a reputable pharmacy — avoid roadside sellers or open market products, as fake supplements are common in Nigeria and may contain harmful substances. Keep iron-containing supplements far away from children, as accidental iron overdose is a leading cause of poisoning in small children. If you are taking other medications, tell your pharmacist so they can check for interactions.
Do not take this supplement at the same time as tetracycline or ciprofloxacin (common antibiotics in Nigeria) because iron reduces how well they work — space them at least 2 hours apart. Avoid taking it together with antacids like aluminium hydroxide (e.g. Gestid) as they reduce iron absorption. Tea and coffee can also reduce how much iron your body absorbs, so avoid drinking them close to when you take your dose.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so do not leave it on a windowsill or inside a hot car. Keep the bottle or pack tightly closed after use to protect from humidity. Always keep out of reach of children, as iron overdose in children can be very dangerous.
