Who is this for?
This is a combination drug containing three active ingredients — Telmisartan, Amlodipine, and Hydrochlorothiazide — that work together to lower high blood pressure. Telmisartan relaxes blood vessels, Amlodipine opens up the blood vessels by relaxing their walls, and Hydrochlorothiazide helps your kidneys remove extra water and salt from your body to reduce blood pressure.
Blocks angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptors to inhibit vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion; blocks L-type calcium channels to reduce vascular smooth muscle contraction; and inhibits sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule to increase urinary sodium and water excretion, collectively reducing blood pressure through vasodilation, decreased cardiac contractility, and reduced intravascular volume.

Take one tablet once a day, preferably at the same time each day. You can take it with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew it. Your doctor will decide the right strength for you — a common combination is Telsartam-HCT 80 mg/10 mg/12.5 mg.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for it.
Only buy from a licensed pharmacy — do not buy from roadside sellers or open markets, as fake blood pressure drugs are common in Nigeria. Do not stop taking this medicine because you feel fine — high blood pressure often has no symptoms but can cause stroke or heart attack if untreated. Avoid taking this drug with other blood pressure medicines or potassium supplements without your doctor's knowledge, as it could make your blood pressure drop too low or affect your potassium levels. NSAIDs like ibuprofen (common painkillers Nigerians use for body pain) can reduce the effectiveness of this drug and harm your kidneys. Avoid alcohol as it can increase dizziness and lower your blood pressure further.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so avoid leaving it in your car or near a window. Keep the tablets in their original pack and away from moisture. Always keep out of reach of children.
