Ribociclib (sold as Kryxana in Nigeria) is a cancer medicine that works by blocking certain proteins (called CDK4 and CDK6) that help cancer cells grow and divide, essentially slowing down or stopping the growth of breast cancer.
Inhibits cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6 (CDK4/6), blocking phosphorylation of the retinoblastoma protein and arresting cancer cells in the G1 phase of the cell cycle, thereby suppressing proliferation of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer cells.

The usual dose is 3 tablets of 200 mg (600 mg total) taken once daily for 21 days straight, followed by 7 days off — this makes one 28-day cycle. Swallow the tablets whole with water, and you can take them with or without food. Always follow your oncologist's exact instructions as your dose may be adjusted based on how your body responds.
If you miss a dose or vomit after taking it, do not take an extra dose that day. Just take your next dose at the normal scheduled time the following day.
Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice as they can increase the drug level in your body dangerously. Certain antibiotics and antifungal drugs like ketoconazole can increase side effects — always tell your doctor about every medicine you are taking. Avoid alcohol as it can put extra stress on your liver while on this medication.
