Koldrin-D Cough Syrup

Who is this for?

This is a combination medicine containing pseudoephedrine (a decongestant that opens up blocked nose and airways) and chlorphenamine (an antihistamine that stops sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes). Together they relieve cold and allergy symptoms.

Activates α-adrenergic receptors in nasal mucosa to cause vasoconstriction and reduce congestion, while blocking H1 histamine receptors to suppress allergic symptoms including rhinitis, sneezing, and lacrimation.

Is Pseudoephedrine safe to take with another drug?

For adults, the usual dose is 1 tablet or 10ml of syrup (like Koldrin-D Cough Syrup) every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours. You can take it with or without food, but taking it with food may reduce stomach upset.

Since this drug is taken only when you have symptoms, there is no strict schedule. If you miss a dose, just take it when you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Never double up to catch up.

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it increases drowsiness and dizziness. Do not take with other cold or cough medicines that contain similar ingredients to avoid overdose. If you are taking blood pressure medication, consult your doctor first as pseudoephedrine can raise blood pressure.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so avoid leaving it in your car or near windows. Keep the bottle tightly closed and always store out of reach of children.
