This is a combination medicine that contains three active ingredients: paracetamol (a painkiller and fever reducer), doxylamine (an antihistamine that helps dry up a runny nose and helps you sleep), and dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant that calms dry cough). Together, they work to relieve cold and flu symptoms.
Inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes to reduce prostaglandin synthesis, thereby decreasing fever, pain, and inflammation; blocks H1 histamine receptors to reduce nasal congestion and sneezing; and suppresses the cough reflex by acting on the cough centre in the medulla oblongata.

For adults, take the recommended dose (usually 1-2 tablets or the measured dose of syrup) every 6-8 hours as needed. Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours. You can take it with or without food. Because it causes drowsiness, it is best taken at night or when you do not need to drive or operate machines.
Since this medicine is taken only when you have symptoms, there is no strict schedule. If you forget a dose, take it when you remember, but do not double up. Just make sure you wait at least 6 hours before the next dose.
Do not combine this medicine with other paracetamol products — many cold and flu medicines already contain paracetamol, and taking too much can damage your liver. This medicine makes you very drowsy, so do not drive, ride okada, or operate heavy machinery after taking it. Buy only from reputable pharmacies — products like Zedex D should come in proper, sealed packaging with a valid NAFDAC number.
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine — alcohol increases drowsiness and can seriously damage your liver when combined with paracetamol. Avoid taking other paracetamol-containing medicines (like Tylenol, Hedex, or Boska) at the same time, as this can lead to overdose. Do not combine with other cough and cold medicines or sedatives without asking a pharmacist.
