Who is this for?

This is a combination drug containing pantoprazole (which reduces acid production in your stomach) and domperidone (which helps food move faster through your stomach and stops nausea and vomiting). Together, they treat stomach acid problems and the discomfort that comes with them.

Inhibits the H+/K+-ATPase proton pump in gastric parietal cells, suppressing gastric acid secretion, while domperidone blocks dopamine D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone and enhances gastric motility to reduce nausea, vomiting, and improve gastric emptying.

Is Pantoprazole; safe to take with another drug?

Take one capsule once daily, usually in the morning, about 30 minutes before food. Swallow it whole with water — do not crush or chew. Your doctor may recommend taking it for 2 to 4 weeks depending on your condition. It is sold in Nigeria as Pantodom Capsules.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, just skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take two capsules at once to make up for the one you missed.

• mild stomach pain or diarrhea
• feeling dizzy or drowsy

Avoid taking it with ketoconazole or itraconazole (antifungal drugs) as pantoprazole can reduce their effectiveness. Avoid alcohol as it can worsen stomach acid and increase side effects like dizziness. Be cautious if you are taking blood thinners like warfarin — inform your doctor.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so avoid leaving it in your car or near windows. Keep it in its original pack and far from the reach of children.
