This is a combination of three medicines — Omeprazole (which reduces stomach acid), Tinidazole (an antibiotic that kills certain bacteria), and Clarithromycin (another antibiotic) — all working together to clear a stomach infection caused by a germ called H. pylori that causes ulcer.
Omeprazole inhibits the H+/K+-ATPase pump in gastric parietal cells, suppressing gastric acid secretion and creating an optimal environment for bacterial eradication. Tinidazole and clarithromycin exert bactericidal activity against H. pylori by disrupting bacterial DNA synthesis and inhibiting protein translation, respectively, thereby eliminating the pathogenic organism and allowing ulcer healing.

The usual adult dose is to take all three medicines together twice a day — typically Omeprazole 20mg, Tinidazole 500mg, and Clarithromycin 250mg or 500mg — morning and evening for 7 to 14 days. Take them with food or just before eating. Swallow the capsules and tablets whole with water, do not crush or chew. In Nigeria, you may find this combination already packed together as Ulsakit Softgels.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take double doses to make up for the one you missed.

Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine — Tinidazole reacts badly with alcohol and can cause severe nausea, vomiting, and cramps. Avoid taking this with blood-thinning medicines like Warfarin without your doctor's knowledge, as it may increase the risk of bleeding. If you are taking medications like Diazepam, Carbamazepine, or any HIV drugs, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting this combination.
