Who is this for?

Neomycin and Bacitracin zinc is a combination antibiotic powder or spray that you apply on the skin to kill bacteria and prevent infections in minor wounds, cuts, and burns.

Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit (neomycin) and inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by preventing cross-linking of peptidoglycan (bacitracin zinc), providing broad-spectrum antimicrobial coverage against gram-positive and gram-negative organisms.

Is Neomycin; safe to take with another drug?

Clean the wound properly first, then apply a thin layer of the powder directly on the affected area 1 to 3 times daily. You can cover with a clean bandage if needed. This is for external use only — never swallow it or put it in your eyes.

If you forget to apply it, just apply it as soon as you remember. Then continue with your normal schedule. Do not double up or apply extra powder to make up for the missed application.

Avoid using other antibiotic creams or powders on the same wound at the same time unless your doctor says so. If you are taking any aminoglycoside antibiotics like gentamicin by injection, tell your doctor before using this powder as neomycin belongs to the same family and can increase side effects.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot so avoid keeping it near windows or in your car. Keep the container tightly closed to prevent moisture from entering. Keep away from children.
