SALONPAS PAIN RELIEVING PATCH

Who is this for?

This is a topical pain relief patch (like Salonpas) that you stick on your skin — it contains menthol and camphor that create a cooling-then-warming sensation to distract your nerves from pain, methyl salicylate which works like aspirin to reduce inflammation right where it hurts, and vitamin E (tocopherol acetate) to help soothe the skin.

Inhibits pain transmission by activating TRPM8 and TRPA1 cold-sensitive receptors (menthol, camphor) and salicylate receptors, while methyl salicylate provides local anesthetic effects; tocopherol acetate reduces oxidative stress and supports tissue healing. The synergistic action produces counter-irritation (rubefacient effect) that diverts pain perception and decreases local inflammation through reduced prostaglandin activity.

Is Methyl safe to take with another drug?

Peel off the backing and stick one patch directly on the area where you feel pain. Leave it on for up to 8 hours, then remove it. You can use one to two patches at a time depending on the area. Do not apply more than 3-4 patches in a day. Make sure the skin is clean, dry, and has no cuts or wounds before applying.

Since this is used only when you have pain, there is no strict schedule. Simply apply a new patch when you feel pain again — no need to worry about missing a dose.

Do not use this patch together with other pain-relief creams, balms, or sprays (like Deep Heat or Mentholatum) on the same area as this can cause serious skin irritation or burns. If you are taking blood-thinning drugs like warfarin or aspirin, talk to your doctor first because methyl salicylate can increase the effect. Avoid using with heating pads or hot water bottles on the same spot.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so don't leave it in your car or near a window. Keep the patches sealed in their pouch until ready to use. Keep away from children.
