This is a combination diabetes tablet that contains two medicines — Metformin and Glibenclamide — that work together to lower blood sugar. Metformin helps your body use insulin better and reduces the sugar your liver releases, while Glibenclamide pushes your pancreas to produce more insulin.

Take the tablet with food, usually once or twice daily with your main meals like breakfast and dinner. Your doctor will start you on a low dose and gradually increase it. Swallow with a full glass of water. Do not skip meals after taking this drug, as it can cause your blood sugar to drop dangerously low (hypoglycaemia).
If you miss a dose, take it with your next meal. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed — this can cause your blood sugar to drop too low, which is dangerous.
Always buy from a licensed pharmacy — brands like Glucovance, Breformide, or Clabetic — and avoid roadside sellers or unregistered drug shops, as fake diabetes drugs are common in Nigeria. Never share your diabetes medication with someone else, even if they also have sugar disease, because dosing must be personalised by a doctor. Always carry a small sugary snack like glucose sweet or juice in case your blood sugar drops too low.
Alcohol — drinking alcohol while on this drug can dangerously lower your blood sugar and increase the risk of lactic acidosis, so avoid or limit alcohol. NSAIDs like ibuprofen (e.g. Ibuprofen, Brufen) can increase the blood sugar-lowering effect and cause hypoglycaemia. If you are having a CT scan or X-ray with contrast dye, tell your doctor you are taking this medicine as it may need to be paused temporarily.
