Levocetirizine is an antihistamine (anti-allergy medicine) that works by blocking a natural substance called histamine that your body produces during an allergic reaction, helping to relieve sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and rashes.

Adults should take one 5 mg tablet once daily, preferably in the evening. You can take it with or without food, but swallow the tablet with a full glass of water. It works well whether your stomach is empty or full.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two doses at once to make up for it.
This medicine can make you drowsy, so be careful driving okada, keke, or car especially when you first start taking it. Buy only from registered pharmacies — avoid buying from roadside sellers or open markets as fake drugs are common in Nigeria. Do not share this medicine with others even if they have similar symptoms.
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking levocetirizine as it can make the drowsiness much worse. Be careful if you are also taking other medicines that make you sleepy, such as sleeping tablets or strong painkillers. If you are taking any kidney medication, tell your doctor as the dose may need to be adjusted.
