Antifungal, Antibiotic, and Corticosteroid combination cream
Brand of Ketoconazole; Clobetasol propionate; Neomycin sulphate; Vitamin E
Last reviewed June 2026
Who is this for?
This is a combination cream that fights fungal infections (ketoconazole), kills bacteria (neomycin sulphate), reduces skin swelling, itching and redness (clobetasol propionate — a strong steroid), and helps heal and protect the skin (vitamin E).
Inhibits fungal ergosterol synthesis by blocking lanosterol 14α-demethylase (CYP51), suppresses inflammatory responses via glucocorticoid receptor activation, disrupts bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, and provides antioxidant protection through free radical scavenging, collectively addressing polymicrobial skin infections with concurrent inflammation.

Apply a thin layer to the affected area of skin 2 times a day — morning and night. Gently rub it in. Wash and dry the area before applying. Do not use for more than 2 weeks unless your doctor specifically tells you to, because the steroid in it (clobetasol) is very strong.
If you forget to apply it, just apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not apply double the amount to make up for it.
Important for antibiotics
Always complete the full course even if you feel better. Stopping early can cause the infection to return and become drug-resistant.
Do not use this cream to 'tone' or lighten your skin — the strong steroid can permanently damage your skin, cause stretch marks, and make your skin paper-thin over time. Buy only from licensed pharmacies and avoid roadside sellers, as fake skin creams are very common in Nigeria. Do not use for longer than 2 weeks without a doctor's supervision, even if the infection has not fully cleared — go back and let your doctor reassess.
Avoid using other steroid creams or skin products on the same area at the same time, as this can increase the risk of side effects. Do not apply alongside other antibiotic creams unless your doctor says so. If you are taking any medicine that affects your kidneys, let your doctor know, because neomycin can add extra stress to the kidneys if absorbed through broken skin.
Check your specific combination
Is it safe to take Ketoconazole; with your other drugs?
This cream is not considered safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding — the strong steroid and neomycin can potentially harm the baby, so consult your doctor before using it.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so avoid leaving it in your car or near a window. Keep the tube tightly closed after use and keep it out of reach of children.
