Finasteride is a drug that works by blocking the conversion of the male hormone testosterone into a stronger form called DHT, which is responsible for prostate enlargement and hair loss in men.

For enlarged prostate, take one 5 mg tablet once a day. For hair loss, take one 1 mg tablet once a day. You can take it with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole — do not crush or break it. You may need to take it for several months before you notice full results, so be patient and consistent.
If you miss a dose, skip it and take your next dose at the regular time. Do not take two tablets to make up for the missed one.
Only buy finasteride from reputable pharmacies — products like Finstrate Tablet or Finasteride Tablets USP 5 mg should come in proper sealed packaging. Do not share this medication with anyone, especially women and children. Be aware that this drug can affect PSA blood test results used to screen for prostate cancer, so always tell your doctor you are taking finasteride before any prostate tests.
