The dosage depends on your condition. For irregular periods, the usual dose is 10mg taken twice daily from day 11 to day 25 of your cycle. For threatened miscarriage, you may take 40mg at once, then 10mg every 8 hours until symptoms stop. Always follow your doctor's specific instructions. You can take it with or without food, but swallow the tablet whole with water.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for a missed dose.
Only buy from trusted pharmacies — Progerix Tablet is the known Nigerian brand, so be careful of fake versions from roadside sellers. Do not use this drug to try to terminate a pregnancy — it does not work that way and can be harmful. Always use it exactly as your doctor prescribed and do not share it with others.
Some drugs used for epilepsy (like carbamazepine and phenytoin) and tuberculosis drugs (like rifampicin) can reduce how well dydrogesterone works. Alcohol does not directly interact, but it can worsen side effects like dizziness and nausea, so it is best to limit drinking while on this medication.
