Dorzolamide & Timolol Eye Drop

Who is this for?

This is a combination eye drop containing two medicines — dorzolamide and timolol — that work together to reduce pressure inside the eye by decreasing the amount of fluid the eye produces.

Is Dorzolamide safe to take with another drug?

Put one drop into the affected eye(s) twice a day — morning and evening. Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and drop the medicine inside. Close your eye gently and press the corner near your nose for about one minute to stop the drop from draining away. Do not let the tip of the bottle touch your eye.

If you forget a dose, put the drop in as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not put in two drops at once to make up for it.

• Burning or stinging feeling in the eye after putting in the drop
• bitter or unusual taste in the mouth
• blurred vision for a short while
• red or itchy eyes
• watery eyes

If you are using other eye drops, wait at least 10 minutes between each one. Oral beta-blockers (like atenolol or propranolol used for high blood pressure) can increase side effects when combined with this eye drop — tell your doctor about all medicines you take. Avoid using with other carbonic anhydrase inhibitors like acetazolamide tablets as this increases the risk of side effects.

Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so keep it in a cool, dry place. Once opened, use within 28 days and throw away any remaining drops. Always keep out of reach of children.
