This is a combination medicine containing diphenhydramine (an antihistamine that helps stop coughing and dries up runny nose) and sodium citrate (which helps loosen thick mucus in the chest so you can cough it out more easily). Together they work to calm coughs and clear chest congestion.
Blocks H1 histamine receptors to reduce allergic symptoms and suppresses the cough reflex via central nervous system depression; sodium citrate acts as an expectorant to facilitate mucus clearance and reduce airway irritation associated with upper respiratory congestion.
