This is a combination cough and cold medicine that contains three active ingredients: chlorphenamine (an antihistamine that stops sneezing and runny nose), dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant that calms dry cough), and guaifenesin (an expectorant that loosens thick mucus in your chest so you can cough it out more easily).
Blocks H1 histamine receptors to reduce allergic rhinitis symptoms, suppresses cough via central nervous system depression of the cough center, and increases respiratory tract fluid secretion to facilitate mucus clearance and expectoration.

Since this medicine is taken only when you have symptoms, there is no strict schedule. If you forget a dose, simply take it when you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and do not double up.
This medicine causes drowsiness, so do not drive or operate machines like generators after taking it. Buy only from licensed pharmacies, not roadside sellers, to make sure you are getting genuine medicine. If your cough lasts more than 7 days or you start coughing blood, stop and see a doctor immediately.
Do not take with alcohol, as it will make the drowsiness much worse and can be dangerous. Avoid using with other cough or cold medicines as they may contain similar ingredients, leading to overdose. Do not combine with sedatives or sleeping pills.
