This is a combination cough medicine that works in four ways: chlorphenamine reduces allergic reactions and dries up a runny nose, ammonium chloride loosens thick mucus so you can cough it out easily, liquorice soothes your irritated throat, and menthol gives a cooling feeling that helps you breathe better.
Blocks H1 histamine receptors to reduce allergic symptoms (sneezing, rhinorrhea) while ammonium chloride acts as an expectorant to thin respiratory secretions; menthol and liquorice provide topical soothing effects on the respiratory mucosa and mild anti-inflammatory action.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for it.
This medicine makes you drowsy so do not drive or operate machinery after taking it. Buy only from licensed pharmacies or chemists, not from roadside sellers, to make sure you are getting genuine medicine. If your cough comes with high fever, blood in mucus, or lasts more than a week, see a doctor, as it may be something more serious than ordinary cough.
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it will make you very drowsy and dizzy. Do not combine with other antihistamines like Piriton (chlorphenamine) as you would be doubling the dose. Be careful taking it with sleeping tablets or sedatives as it increases drowsiness.
