How to take this drug

For high prolactin: Usually start with 0.5 mg (one Gostinex tablet) per week, taken as one dose or split into two half-tablets on different days. Your doctor may gradually increase the dose. Take it with food to reduce stomach upset. Follow your doctor's exact instructions as dosage varies from person to person.

What if I Miss a Dose?

If you miss your weekly dose and remember within a day or two, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take a double dose to make up for it.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Warning

Cabergoline is not safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding — stop taking it at least one month before trying to conceive, and consult your doctor immediately if you become pregnant while on it.
