This is a combination drug that contains an antibiotic (Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim, commonly called Co-trimoxazole or Septrin) to fight bacterial infections, plus Bromhexine which helps loosen thick mucus in your chest so you can cough it out more easily.
Inhibits bacterial dihydrofolate reductase (trimethoprim) and dihydropteroate synthase (sulfamethoxazole), disrupting folate synthesis and DNA replication in susceptible organisms, while bromhexine increases mucus fluidity by stimulating serous cell secretions and enhancing mucociliary clearance in respiratory airways.
