Anhydrous Dextrose is a pure form of glucose (sugar) that is given through a drip (IV) into your vein to provide your body with quick energy and fluids when you cannot eat or drink properly.
Provides rapid glucose substrate for cellular metabolism via the glycolytic pathway and tricarboxylic acid cycle, restoring blood glucose levels and replenishing intracellular ATP stores to reverse hypoglycemia and support vital organ function. Additionally restores intravascular volume and osmotic balance, correcting dehydration and providing essential calories during periods of inadequate oral intake or increased metabolic demand.

Since this drug is given by healthcare workers in a hospital, missed doses are not really an issue. If your drip finishes or stops running, alert your nurse immediately so they can check if you need more.
Only receive IV drips in a proper hospital or clinic, never from unqualified people or roadside chemists. If you notice swelling, redness, or pain where the drip enters your hand, tell your nurse right away. If you are diabetic, make sure your doctor knows so they can monitor your blood sugar while on the drip.
