This is a combination antacid and anti-gas medicine that contains ingredients to neutralize excess stomach acid (aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium trisilicate), relieve stomach pain (oxethazaine, which is a local painkiller for the stomach lining), and reduce bloating and gas (simeticone).

How to take this drug
For adults, take 2 to 4 teaspoonfuls (10–20 ml) of the suspension between meals and at bedtime, or as directed by your pharmacist or doctor. Shake the bottle well before use. You can take it when you feel the symptoms or about 1 hour after eating.
What if I Miss a Dose?
Since this medicine is usually taken when you feel symptoms like heartburn or stomach pain, there is no strict schedule. Simply take it when you need it. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
What to watch out for
Buy from a reputable pharmacy — avoid roadside sellers, as the suspension may have been stored in extreme heat which can spoil it. Do not use it continuously for more than 2 weeks without seeing a doctor, as ongoing stomach pain could be a sign of something more serious. Known in Nigeria as Jawasil Plus Antacid Suspension — always check the expiry date before buying.

Do not take this medicine at the same time as antibiotics like tetracycline or ciprofloxacin — antacids reduce their effectiveness, so space them at least 2 hours apart. It can also reduce the absorption of iron supplements and antimalarial drugs, so take those separately.

- those with severe kidney problems (since magnesium can build up dangerously)
- and people with very low phosphate levels in their blood. Children should not use it without a doctor's approval.
How to Store
