Alfuzosin (sold as Flotral in Nigeria) is a medicine that relaxes the muscles around the prostate gland and the opening of the bladder, making it easier for men to urinate.
Selectively blocks alpha-1A adrenergic receptors in the prostate and bladder neck, reducing smooth muscle contraction and relieving urinary obstruction in benign prostatic hyperplasia. This receptor antagonism improves urine flow and reduces lower urinary tract symptoms without significantly affecting blood pressure.
