When to see a doctor

Seek care if you notice any of the following

  • If you have a seizure that lasts for more than 5 minutes, go to your nearest clinic or hospital immediately.
  • If you experience a seizure and then feel confused or disoriented for more than 30 minutes after it stops, go to your nearest clinic or hospital.
  • If you have a seizure and then experience a severe headache, vomiting, or difficulty speaking, go to your nearest clinic or hospital immediately.
  • If you are experiencing more frequent seizures than usual, go to your nearest clinic or hospital to see your doctor.
  • If you have a seizure and then experience numbness or weakness in your face, arm, or leg that lasts for more than a few hours, go to your nearest clinic or hospital.
