Zopiclone is a sleeping pill that works by calming your brain and nervous system so you can fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. It is sold in Nigeria under brand names like Nitress Tablets and Zopice Tablet.

Take one 7.5mg tablet by mouth just before bedtime. Swallow it whole with water — do not crush or chew it. Make sure you have at least 7 to 8 hours to sleep before you need to wake up. Do not take it with or right after a heavy meal as it may take longer to work. Your doctor will usually prescribe it for only 2 to 4 weeks.
Since zopiclone is taken only at bedtime when you cannot sleep, there is no regular dosing schedule to miss. If it is already late in the night or close to when you need to wake up, skip it — do not take it or you may feel very drowsy the next day. Never take two tablets to make up for a missed one.
This is a controlled prescription medicine — do not buy it from roadside vendors or open markets, and only use it if a doctor has prescribed it for you. Zopiclone can be habit-forming, so do not use it for longer than your doctor prescribed or share it with anyone else, even if they also have trouble sleeping. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything requiring alertness the morning after taking it, as it can still make you drowsy.
Do not drink alcohol while taking zopiclone — combining them can cause dangerously deep sleep, breathing problems, or even death. Be careful if you are taking other medicines that make you sleepy such as antihistamines (like Piriton), strong painkillers (like tramadol or codeine), or medicines for anxiety or depression. Tell your doctor if you are taking erythromycin or ketoconazole as they can increase the effects of zopiclone in your body.
