Who is this for?
Travoprost is an eye drop medicine that lowers pressure inside the eye by helping fluid drain out more easily. It belongs to a group of medicines called prostaglandin analogues that mimic natural substances in the body to improve fluid flow from the eye.
Activates prostaglandin F (FP) receptors on the ciliary muscle and uveal tissue, increasing uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humour and thereby reducing intraocular pressure.

If you forget a dose, just put in the drop as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your normal schedule. Do not use two drops to make up for a missed dose, as using too much can reduce how well the medicine works.
Only buy your Travatan or Vitaprost eye drops from licensed pharmacies, as counterfeit eye drops from unverified sellers can cause serious eye infections. Do not share your eye drops with anyone else, even if they have the same eye condition. Be aware that travoprost may permanently change your eye colour (make it darker) over time, and this is more noticeable if only one eye is being treated.
If you use other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between each medicine to avoid washing out the first drop. Using travoprost together with other prostaglandin eye drops (like latanoprost or bimatoprost) can reduce its effectiveness, so do not combine them unless your doctor says so. There are no major known food or alcohol interactions, but always tell your doctor about all medicines you are using.
