Who is this for?

Trafermin is a man-made version of a natural growth factor (called bFGF or basic fibroblast growth factor) that helps your body grow new blood vessels and repair damaged tissue, especially in wounds that are slow to heal.

Activates fibroblast growth factor receptors on fibroblasts and keratinocytes, promoting cell proliferation, differentiation, and migration to accelerate wound re-epithelialization and collagen deposition.

Is Trafermin safe to take with another drug?

Trafermin is not a tablet — it comes as a spray or solution (like Marc-Blast Lyophilized Powder) that is applied directly onto the wound by a healthcare professional. The powder is mixed with a special liquid before use and sprayed on the cleaned wound, usually once daily or as your doctor directs. Do not apply it yourself without medical guidance.

If you miss a scheduled wound treatment, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule. Do not apply double the amount.

Store the dry powder in a refrigerator (2–8°C) if possible. In Nigeria's hot climate, avoid leaving it out in room temperature, direct sunlight, or humid areas. Once mixed with the liquid, use it immediately or as directed — do not store the mixed solution. Keep out of reach of children.
