This is a combination of two medicines — Telmisartan (which relaxes blood vessels) and Hydrochlorothiazide (a 'water tablet' that helps your body remove excess water and salt through urine). Together, they lower high blood pressure more effectively than either one alone.

Usually one tablet once a day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, preferably at the same time each day. Common strengths in Nigeria include 40/12.5 mg and 80/12.5 mg — your doctor will decide which strength is right for you. Brands available in Nigeria include Co-Micardis, Arbitel H, Afritel 40 H, Cilzec Plus, Telduret, and Tamisart-80 H.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for the missed dose.
Do not buy this medicine from roadside sellers or without a proper prescription — fake blood pressure drugs are dangerous and common. Do not stop taking this medicine because you feel fine; high blood pressure often has no symptoms but can cause stroke or heart attack if untreated. Drink enough water but avoid excessive heat and dehydration, as the water tablet component can make you lose too much fluid, especially in hot Nigerian weather.
Avoid using with other blood pressure-lowering medicines without your doctor's knowledge, as your blood pressure could drop too low. Be careful with painkillers like ibuprofen or diclofenac, as they can reduce this drug's effectiveness and affect your kidneys. Avoid alcohol, as it can worsen dizziness and further lower your blood pressure.

This medicine is NOT safe during pregnancy — it can cause serious harm or death to the unborn baby, especially in the second and third trimesters. It is also not recommended while breastfeeding. Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant.
